I went to a screening of The Poles Are Coming last week, followed by an intriguing Q&A session with Andrew Miller, Political Editor of the Economist and the man himself, Tim Samuels. An array of pertinent questions came thick and fast, just like the Poles in Pity Borrow – that’s Peterborough to you and me!

No rants, no hand-wringing; for once, an immigration tale that was just funny and charming, writes the Guardian’s Sam Wollaston, and I couldn’t agree more. Tim Samuels’ not-so-recent venture into the sticky subject of immigration is guaranteed to entertain. Be warned however, it is about as far away as you can get from a typical British rant, and refreshingly so. An agreeable mix of good humour and good old honesty paves the way for a very enlightening documentary indeed…

Check out the Guardian, the BBC, and the Telegraph for comments, criticism and more.
